W3666 is a 7 unit, two story multifamily building in Culver City. It is one of three buildings on the same block, all held by the same owner, all designed by the same architect, and all remodeled by AGG Construction Group. Before the work, the building was indistinguishable from a row of neighbors that were all aging at the same rate.

That context shaped the approach. When every building on a block looks the same, the return on a remodel is disproportionate, because the first one to change becomes the reference point for the street rather than one option among several.

The work started with fresh paint and new stucco, which set a modern line the original structure did not have. Custom ironwork and synthetic siding were added along with new fascia and gutters, and new concrete driveways were poured. Synthetic siding was chosen over natural material for a reason that matters to an owner rather than an architect, which is that it holds its appearance without the repainting and replacement cycle a wood product would have committed them to.

The balconies and decks were the substantive part of the scope. They were newly built rather than patched, which addressed deferred maintenance and resident safety at the same time as it added an architectural element the building did not previously have. Building elevated elements to current standards is structural carpentry, not a finish item, and it is the line item most often deferred on a building of this age.

The project closed with a common area remodel, new lighting throughout, and custom signage that gave the building its own identity on a block where it previously had none. AGG Construction Group works throughout Los Angeles County including Culver City. You can see the areas we cover on our service area page.
