Hutton
Interior remodel and wine room, East Coast traditional, 6br/6.5ba
Beverly Hills
Interior Remodel
4,357 sq ft
Hutton is a 4,357 square foot East Coast traditional in Beverly Hills with six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms. The structure and layout were already sound. What the house needed was a full interior reset carried out without altering the bones the owners valued.
Fresh paint went through the entire house first to establish a consistent backdrop. From there the work moved into surface and detail: Roman clay and Venetian plaster on selected walls, custom lighting fixtures throughout, wallpaper in the rooms that called for it, and custom tile.
The kitchen was updated without a teardown. The existing cabinet boxes were repurposed and refinished rather than replaced, and a new hood enclosure was built to reset the focal point of the room. That decision kept both cost and schedule down while producing a kitchen that reads as new.
The most involved element was a purpose built wine room with a custom wine fridge, along with custom cabinets, shelving and stone work elsewhere in the house. Millwork at this level is custom carpentry rather than cabinet installation. It is built to the dimensions of the room and fitted on site, which is why it sits flush in a house that was never designed to hold it.
If you are weighing an interior remodel that keeps your existing layout, our Beverly Hills general contracting team can walk the house with you and tell you honestly what is worth keeping and what genuinely needs replacing.
